The style has been called "transcendental chamber folk-rock": contemplative, thoughtful, uplifting, with lyrics in the literate singer-songwriter tradition. It weaves together acoustic 6-and 12-string guitars, piano, bass, cello, nyckelharpa, harmonium, electric guitar, drums, and French Horn.  

The band includes Eric Lewis (recently featured on soundtrack of the movie Song Sung Blue), cellist/bassist Hans Christian (Robbie Robertson, Harry Manx, Billy Idol, etc.), drummer Paul Taylor (Grammy nominee), Austin singer-songwriter Karen Mal, Amy Chaffee (vocal coach to Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Orlando Bloom, etc.) and Frederick "Doc" Heide (singer-songwriter, playwright, clinical psychologist, 2026 Fellow of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters).

The album is a psychospiritual take on our dark time.   Songs explore optimism, mysticism, myth, deep friendship, abiding love, compassion toward strangers, and breaking free of societal expectations.

 

Heide has released three previous albums and co-authored two dozen musicals. He is co-founder of Northern Sky Theater in Door County, Wisconsin.
