NEWS - Voyager — the new "Freedust" album is out

For fans of: Sade, H.E.R., Cleo Sol.

My favourite part of making music has always been the initial idea — the thrill of a chord progression, or a bass riff locking perfectly into a drum loop and becoming a groove. Work that way long enough and you end up with tons of unfinished ideas. So this year I finally sat down, went through them all, and developed the best ones.

The result is Voyager — a journey through the corners of my deepest musical passion, black music: funk, soul, hip-hop, gospel. Early on we pitched the sound as "Wax Tailor meets Black Pumas" — live double bass, a live gospel choir, an Optigan, my old USSR upright piano.

Between singers and musicians, the people on this record come from seventeen countries across five continents: some I met here in Barcelona, others I've never met in person, yet through the music we've become closely connected. I feel lucky to have the time to work on my passion, and to share it with such a wonderful group of musicians.
