NEWS - Violette Sounds "Infinity"
Founded in 2012, VIOLETTE SOUNDS was initially intended as a unique passion project and a kind of diary for drummer/singer Karl Henneberg, who wanted to musically express the experiences and emotions from the last 40 years of his life. Colleagues were quickly found in Uwe Böttcher (bass, violin) and Matthias Vogel (guitar), with whom Henneberg, together with other musician friends, packed the song ideas into a mix of progressive/psychedelic/jazz and atmospheric 70s rock.
The 18 songs-strong album „Feelin‘ Inside“ was released in the same year.
Inspired by the positive response from press and fans to the album and the following concerts, VIOLETTE SOUNDS - now with Karl Henneberg on drums and microphone, with Henri Thönnissen on guitar, Sascha Mahns on bass and reinforced by Moritz Schippers (keyboards) grown from a personal project to a band with a steady line-up – decided to write more songs and record the predominantly instrumental album "Wild and Blue", which was released at the end of 2018 by MIG Music and, like its predecessor, was very well received by the press and fans .
This new album represents the unique sound that VIOLETTE SOUNDS has created since working with Loten Namling. And while VIOLETTE SOUNDS was already musically convincing with its first two albums, the addition of world music elements and Loten's Tibetan chants gave the group an absolute unique selling point.
VIOLETTE SOUNDS are progressive, atmospheric, jazzy and still they know how to rock properly, which is not only due to Karl Henneberg being musically influenced by 70’s rock , but also to the performance of Loten Namling, who, as a proven rock/metal fan, has even shared the stage with the Brazilian metal band Sepultura in the past.
