NEWS - THRÆDS Signs with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records for the Release of Their Debut Album "Impermanence"
Originally conceived as the solo project of guitarist and composer Angelos Tzamtzis in 2019, THRÆDS quickly evolved into a full-fledged five-piece band after his move to Berlin. Drawing inspiration from progressive metal, post-metal, and atmospheric rock, the band's sound fuses the crushing groove of Gojira and Tool with the ethereal textures of Alcest, Elder and Porcupine Tree. Their 2021 debut EP Akasha introduced their distinct style to the world, followed by a successful European tour in 2022 that solidified their reputation as a compelling live act.
THRÆDS' multinational lineup includes Angelos Tzamtzis (guitar, synthesizer), Celso Borralho (vocals), Felipe Melo Villarroel (drums), Barnabás Mihály (bass) and Tim Crawford (guitar, backing vocals). Their diverse influences converge into a sound that is both visceral and introspective. Guest contributions from Vangelis Sazanides (synthesizer) and Alegros Gramma (saxophone) further enhance the album's rich sonic palette.
