French-speaking artist Thomas Simon Saddier presents his debut EP titled "Dans mes nuits avec Cécile". Based in Montreal and composed and recorded in the city, this EP brings together five pop tracks with electronic and hip-hop colors. With the participation of talented musicians such as Liana Adams, Julien Stephen Berger, Jose Alejandro Valdes and Canadian electronic music producer Round Lee, this EP offers a unique combination of sounds and styles. The existentialist themes addressed in the EP deal with the passage of time, life in Montreal, and our modern world. Thomas Simon Saddier plans to release a second EP in the coming months, which will be combined with the first to form an album titled "Ex Tenebris Lux". This second installment will be released in the spring and fans can expect a full album filled with musical surprises.
Born in 1989, Thomas Simon Saddier is a musician who studied music at the conservatory in Annecy, with a focus on guitar and piano. He later studied Indian music in Geneva, learning to play the sitar and tablas. After earning a music option baccalaureate, he studied sound engineering and recording at the University of Marne-la-Vallée. He then settled in Lyon, where he obtained a master's degree in modern musicology with a focus on jazz, thanks to his thesis on the famous guitarist Django Reinhardt. Throughout his years in Lyon, Thomas Simon Saddier released several albums with different bands and worked to unite the Lyon music scene. He also wrote a thesis at the University of Geneva on the appropriation of North Indian classical music by psychedelic rock, which was published by Camion Blanc. He also set up his own recording studio and ran the independent label PTP Records in France for five years. Thomas Simon Saddier plays instruments from all over the world, including the Indian sitar, Iranian santoor, Romanian Domra, Dilruba, Indian Harmonium, Oub, and Darbouka. He is known for his originality and poetic approach, often singing his own lyrics in French and playing the instruments featured on his albums. In 2019, he released two EPs: "Raga Swing Experience" on the French label Monsieur Charles Production, a fusion of jazz and Indian music, and "Digitalisation Sentimentale" on the Swiss label Paroisse Records. In 2020, he released his first album under his own name, "Une certaine idée de la France," with the labels Urgence Disk Records (Switzerland) and Namaskar Records (Canada). At the same time, he released his first novel, "Genève la nuit." In 2022, he published his second album "Exil Toujours" and in 2023, he release an Ep named "Dans mes nuits avec Cécile" with the French label Clac Records.
