NEWS - SLOKS Drop Ferocious New Video for Title Track 'VIPER' from Forthcoming Album
Since their start in 2015, this Italian lo-fi garage punk trio has made an unapologetically loud name for themselves with a brutal sound that's both dirty and desperate. Now, with their upcoming album VIPER set to drop in early 2025.
From their early days as a guitar-drums-vocals trio featuring Buddy Fuzz on guitar and Claudy on vocals, SLOKS released their debut 7" vinyl single in 2017and their breakout album Holy Motor in 2018 on Voodoo Rhythm Records. They followed with the critically acclaimed A Knife in Your Hand in 2021, featuring powerhouse drummer Tony Machete, who took their sound to an even harder, more primal edge.
Along the way, SLOKS' fierce dedication to gritty garage rock earned them spots on two compilations: Mandinga Records' You Didn't Think We Could Take It! Vol 2, a tribute to Subsonics, and Bomb Your Brain Vol 2 on Pigmè Records.
In 2023, SLOKS evolved once more with a new lineup that introduced Rudy "Red" Valentine (Barsexuals, Los Mofongos) on vocals, bringing an explosive energy and unfiltered edge to their performances.
They also added guitarist Massimo Scocca (Lame, Two Bo's Maniacs) for a double-guitar assault that amplifies their signature sound. The current lineup—featuring Tony Machete on drums, Buddy Fuzz on guitar, Scocca on guitar, and Valentine on vocals—recorded 13 new tracks at Swampland Studio in Toulouse, France, under the production of Lo Spider (Blew-Up!, Destination Lonely, Dividers).
