Simply Red celebrate their incredible legacy with 40 glorious newly recorded versions of their classic songs.

Recollections’ is out November 21st on the band’s own imprint. Simplyred.com was launched in 2003 for the release of ‘Home’ which to this day remains one of the most successful independent releases of all time. Now after 15 years it’s being rebooted for the release of ‘Recollections’.

‘Recollections’ is available in three physical formats - a 4 LP vinyl, a 3 CD (both featuring all 40 tracks), and a cut-down double vinyl featuring 20 of their top tracks.

The re-recordings have been lovingly produced with long- time collaborator Andy Wright and feature beautiful but faithful versions of ‘Money’s Too tight To Mention’, ‘Holding Back The Years’, ‘Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye’, ‘Stars’, ‘Fairground’ and 35 other favourites.

‘When we recorded these songs, the band had just come off the road. I wanted to capture them while their song parts were still firmly etched into their consciousness.’ explains Mick. ‘As a way of celebrating 40 years of Simply Red, we thought it apt to release these takes. Our producer Andy Wright set about capturing the atmosphere and sonics of the original recordings, and has done a magnificent job. This has enabled us to come full circle and celebrate our 40 years with you and hear and feel where we all are now. As ever, we give you all our very best.  M’

And the celebrations continued at Glastonbury when Mick Hucknall made a surprise appearance during Rod Stewart’s set. Watch their performance HERE.

Currently on a sold-out UK and Ireland tour that kicked off in Belfast earlier this month, Simply Red play two nights at London’s O2 and one night at Wembley Arena next month before embarking on the sold-out leg of their European tour.

Simply Red have enjoyed the kind of long-lived success most bands can only dream of. They have sold over 60 million albums worldwide, enjoyed 5 UK #1 albums, had 2 billion streams across streaming platforms worldwide, and over 1 million YouTube subscribers. Their classic 1991 album ‘Stars’- was the best-selling album for two years in Britain and Europe while all 13 of Simply Red’s studio albums including their latest release ‘Time’, have been top ten in the UK. Simply Red’s 40th anniversary is primed to be a time of rediscovery of this legendary 4-decade long career for fans of the band.

Simply Red remain one of the UK’s most successful and well-loved bands, with Mick Hucknall considered one of the great vocalists of contemporary music.
