Mongrel is an album at the intersection of identity and belonging in the postmodern age, where the bonds of social cohesion are in flux. Mongrel is a response to an age of increasing isolation and polarisation, investigating concepts of feminism, gender, postcolonialism, multiculturalism, and imposter syndrome. Second Idol is Kate Farquharson (vocals, lyrics and guitars), Theia Joyeaux (bass), Sunny Josan (guitars) and Afeef Iqbal (drums and percussion).
