NEWS - THE RUMBA MADRE - NEW SINGLE "ABUELA"

In the 1930s, when fascism triumphed in Spain, around 500,000 people fled the country and went into exile abroad. One of the countries that received the most exiles was Mexico, where hundreds of children arrived—children who never saw their parents again. These children settled in Mexico, and their children and grandchildren grew up just like any other Mexican.

"Abuela" tells the story from the perspective of the grandchildren of an exiled woman who has just passed away. They sing to her in gratitude for her sacrifice, promising that her story will not be forgotten. It's a joyful song of appreciation for grandmothers which, while centered on the history of exiles, could easily be sung by any grandchild to any grandmother. Musically, the track blends Spanish pasodoble with Mexican brass sounds, making it a guaranteed hit on the dance floor.

Produced by Juan de Dios Martín Antón (Gloria Trevi, Amaral, Alejandra Guzmán, La Santa Cecilia, Camarón, Las Cafeteras, etc.), "Abuela" features musicians such as Ezequiel Navas (Raphael, Amaral, La Orquesta Mondragón, etc.) on drums, Pepe Ortega (Juanes, Alejandro Sanz, etc.) on some arrangements, Kalani Trinidad (Cultura Profética) on flute, and the Galician singing and percussion group Lilaina (Vetusta Morla, C Tangana, etc.), along with Xosé Lois Romero (Baiuca, Vetusta Morla, Aliboria) on percussion. It also includes a speech by the popular Spanish TV host El Gran Wyoming.
