The EP is a nod to the New Wave sounds of the 80s, taking inspiration from the  influences that have shaped them including David Bowie, Prince and Talking heads amongst many. Self proclaiming that their music falls within the indie rock, indie pop and dance pop genres- Retrofile bundle all of these sounds together into a neat little package which is the 'Lost In Sound' EP. From a melancholic 'Fleetwood Mac-esc' track 'Modern Tricks', to an unconventional love story between a man and his car ('Number One') Retrofile continue to challenge musical stereotypes by combining the melody driven hooks of 80s pop, the rhythmic pulse of disco and the guitar/synth interplay of 00's rock, On the EP's title track Retrofile said - "'Lost in Sound' is a pure vibe piece.
