POOLS share Wag

Swedish alt-country duo POOLS, consisting of multi-instrumentalist Fredrik Forell and vocalist Arvid Hällagård, unveil their latest single “Wag” — a deeply personal and emotionally charged song about finding strength after loss.
Written in the aftermath of a divorce, “Wag” captures the journey from quiet introspection to renewed confidence. The track opens with delicate restraint — a fragile voice tracing the edges of heartbreak — and gradually grows into a soaring, full-bodied anthem that embodies emotional recovery. As the instrumentation swells, so does the sense of empowerment, mirroring the process of rediscovering oneself after deep personal change.
On drums is Tor Sjödén, best known for his work with international sensations Viagra Boys, whose dynamic rhythms add grit and drive to the track’s evolution. Together, the trio crafts a sound that blends classic Americana storytelling with a distinctly Nordic atmosphere — spacious, melancholic, and honest.
POOLS have already made a name for themselves internationally, with previous songs featured in hit series such as Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia and Paramount’s Mayor of Kingstown. With “Wag”, the band continues to refine their unique take on alt-country — merging heartland authenticity with Scandinavian soulfulness.
“Wag” stands as both confession and celebration — a song about moving through pain and coming out stronger on the other side. It’s a powerful reminder that even after everything falls apart, there’s always a way forward.
