Perry graduated from the University of Tampa with a BA in Music ,with a focus in classical guitar and voice. He also studied jazz bass, piano, and composition and made a name for himself as both a singer/songwriter and as a guitarist for various theatrical productions during this period including Rent, Les Miserables, and Legally Blonde. Perry returned home to Philadelphia after college, where he became the lead guitarist for grunge-punk band Famous & Fallen. After the pandemic, Perry left the band and began work on his solo project, THE AWKWARD MIDDLE.
