JULIE MELETTA a new EP: AMARCŒUR
News
Julie Meletta, a Swiss artist with French roots, unveils her new EP, Amarcœur. Julie invites us into a world where impossible love stories take center stage. Picture a nightclub at the end of the night, when the lights go out and the partygoers have gone. In the lingering darkness, five heartbroken characters take turns at the microphone to share their tales of impossible love. Each of the five tracks is an intimate confession, a slice of life filled with nostalgia and unfulfilled desire. These unrequited, unfinished, or forbidden loves resonate in a setting where melancholy and passion intertwine. Julie Meletta has often steered clear of love songs, finding them too sweet. But with Amarcœur, she faces a theme she had long avoided. It's a form of musical therapy, a way to free herself and explore the complex emotions that arise from impossible loves. Musically, the EP draws on diverse influences: from Plastic Bertrand to Ennio Morricone, with touches of contemporary music. Cinema, especially cult classics like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, also influenced this work. |
