NEWS - Jimi Young “I Wrote For You” is the song that explains why I write music

Every songwriter has that person, moment, heartbreak, or memory that becomes a song, and sometimes the person you wrote it for never even knows. This is my love letter to songwriting itself: honest, emotional modern country built around a simple idea, some songs have to be written, because there are things you can only say in a song. This one was written while I was running in Mexico in the gorgeous sunlight and finished the vocals in a hot tub with a mimosa. It just rolled out of me in one morning. The song features Jimi Young on vocals, bass and guitar, the legendary Bruce Hoffman (Nashville superstar) on pedal steel and Kai Jokiaho on the acoustic kit.
