After a long absence from the public eye, Jamie Woon recently shared two sublime new singles: Heavy Going and A Velvet Rope. These were quickly followed by the announcement of his first concert in years at London's Union Chapel in October, which of course sold out in the blink of an eye. Jamie is now sharing even more music with the single When, accompanied by Pulling on a Thread, to announce the long-awaited release of his new album 3, 10, Why, When, scheduled for October 3rd. After his debut album Mirrorwriting (2011) and his second album Making Time (2015), Jamie stopped releasing his own music but continued to work with other artists, including Elmiene, Lil Silva, and co-produced Holly Walker's debut solo album, Unsung. The songs that make up 3, 10, Why, When came about thanks to Jamie's collaboration with producer Martin Terefe, whom he met outside the music world. The album oscillates between R&B, electronic music and pop, with a unique impressionistic touch. It moves with disconcerting ease from strange, sharp percussion to lush strings, frightening you with repetitive motifs evoking loneliness and thoughts at 3 a.m., while drawing on deep feelings of love and belonging.
