Izzy Hagerup – also known as Prewn – doesn’t shy away from the ugly side of life. Her "ragged, tormented indie-rock" (Pitchfork) is twisted like a house of mirrors and delves into “the sound of your broken, beating, dripping, heaving heart”, as she sings on “Don’t Be Scared”, in a way that is compelling, thrilling and moreish. Her remarkable breakthrough LP, "System", landed last year on Exploding In Sound and has gathered further momentum in 2026 through word-of-mouth and its sheer unrelenting quality. "System" was self-recorded at home by Izzy, largely in the early hours (She told The Line Of Best Fit, "making it candy to my ears, on my own in the middle of the night"), with her playing all the instruments and writing every word.
