With this release, the Cuban singer and songwriter, who lives in Winterthur, brings fresh energy to the Latin pop scene – and the album has already made it into the first round of selections for the Latin GRAMMYs.
Between Cuba and the WorldBorn in Matanzas, Cuba, into a family of musicians, Michel Valdes inherited his talent from his father, guitarist and singer Clemente Valdés Fernández. At the age of eight, he began his musical training at the Rafael Somavilla Art School under the guidance of Esteban Taylor.
His career in Cuba led him to renowned groups such as Orquesta Tropicana, Costa Latina, and Héctor Daniel y la Constelación. In 2001, he was nominated for the Premios Lucas – with the Canarian artist Tinguaro and the album Jugando con el Tiempo, which reached 3rd place in its category.
Today, Michel Valdes lives in Switzerland, where as a soloist and through various projects he enriches the Latin American music scene. With his voice, charisma, and passion, he has established himself as a prominent figure both in Europe and Latin America.
