Siiri Kähönen, who grew up in an artistic family in Helsinki, moved to Lappeenranta—a city near the Russian border—to escape the bohemian lifestyle and pursue studies and a career in the commercial sector. Rediscovering her lifelong passion for singing and songwriting, Kähönen decided to restart her career as a songwriter in 2022.
Antti Heikkilä, from Kangasala, a small town near Tampere situated amid the lakes of southwestern Finland, was captivated by music from a young age, especially drumming. Guitar playing became his ultimate passion during his teenage years, providing him a means to express his emotions. Heikkilä previously played guitar in the alternative rock band Vagabond Hearts and is currently known for his work with Hene Jääsalo, one of Finland's most promising new gothic-tinged rock singer-songwriters.
The duo met by chance in the summer of 2022 through Muusikoiden.net, an old-school online platform for artists and music enthusiasts to connect and collaborate. They began to develop Kähönen's musical ideas into complete songs and soon discovered a profound musical connection. Thus, Eidetic Dreams was born.
