NEWS - HEAVY BLOOM's "Woke Up" plays like a love story that’s already unraveling in the intersection of urgency, denial, and freedom

FFO: Miley Cyrus, Cleo Sol, Brent Faiyaz, Snoh Aalegra

HEAVY BLOOM are a genre-blending band from Seattle, WA, known for a soulful fusion of pop, R&B, and funk with influences ranging from 80s synth-pop to modern electronic sounds. Band leaders Jeanie Marinella and Joji Harada began writing together in 2020. As their creative vision evolved, they decided to form a band to bring their musical concepts to life.

"Woke Up" finds HEAVY BLOOM leaning into a sharper, more guitar- driven side of their sound. Inspired by emotional tension, the song plays like a love story that's already unraveling. The narrator wakes up too early, caught between wanting connection and realizing it may already be over.

It's romantic, but not hopeful. The result is a song about that strange intersection of urgency, denial, and freedom. The moment you realize the relationship might not survive.

Jeanie - vox, Demarcus - guitar, Cory - bass, Joji - drums, Jacob - keys
