Following on from his debut album 'Balloon Magic' in 2016 released on Philophobia Music, Charlie went on to perform at several of Yorkshire's finest festivals including Live at Leeds and Long Division festival as well as securing slots alongside Idles, Dodgy and The Blinders. Fast forward to 2024 and we see a more mature, acoustic EP called 'Something Electric' which features deeper themes but still with the charm of a timeless quality.
If you want to see music in it's true form, this is your man. Charlie's tracks can range from rip roaring energy in its raw performance or haunting ballads with beautiful melodies but one thing that run's clear through all his releases is that this a musician who's earned his craft by working the circuit and knows exactly how to get the emotion he wants in his music out onto the audience.
2026 marks the release of Charlie's debut single. A Boy Named Cigarette has existed and was performed in his Balloon Magic era shows but never released. It's a high energy piece about the trials and tribulations of trying to make your way in the world. It's got catchy hooks and a solo that bursts out of the record, complemented by organs and harmonica to really complete the piece. This track confirms Charlie's ability not only to perform as an artist that has the depth and knowhow to guide a listener through an EP or an album but as an artist that can create a single that will have it's audience up and off their feet dancing and singing along.
