With powerfully orchestrated versions of songs from the upcoming album that will be released in March, Swedish multi-instrumentalist and producer Jörgen André reintroduced Lights Of Skadi last year after five years of studio work with the album A Cinematic Experience. This fall's album release A Cinematic Experience (Orchestral Versions) caused critics and listeners to draw parallels to
the multiple Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer. Now Gods is being released as the first single from the upcoming album. On the single, Lights Of Skadi is guested by guitarists Andy Gillion (Mors Prinicpium Est a.o.), and Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen a.o.) as well as Alexander Borger.
With the new album – of which Gods is the first taste –
Lights Of Skadi now continues with a musically multifaceted experience that bears traces of influences from progressive rock and bands such as Dream Theater, King Crimson, Haken, Pink Floyd, and the Swedish band Opeth.
"If anyone doubts that progressive rock isn’t still alive and kicking in Sweden this is the ultimate proof". Nordic Music Central (UK)
Lights Of Skadi's new single Gods has been released on January 17th.
The album A Cinematic Experience will be released on March 7th.
