GBD initially formed in 2019 by founding members Jesse Dummermuth, David Walker and David Lassman. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent quarantining made it incredibly difficult to perform let alone rehearse. Once shows picked back up in the latter part of 2021, the founding trio focused on writing and recording dynamic and diverse instrumental songs with epically spooky vibes.

Kayla (aka Thansui) joined in 2024 as the vocalist and frontwoman, immediately adding powerfully inspired vocal lines and amplifying the band's sound to a colossal magnitude.  GBD have since evolved into a tightly knit group performing often in their hometown of Kansas City, MO.
