NEWS - Garrett Anthony Rice "The Coastal Walls (The Shame Of Everyone)" will be released May 18

Since 20th August 1619 when the first enslaved Africans from Angola landed at Jamestown, Virginia, America the slave trade operated freely and without a moral compass officially in the United States until the Emancipation Act was signed by Lincoln (most of the founding fathers and subsequent Presidents kept slaves as property). The African Americans only achieved desegregation and Voting Rights in 1965 and 1968. This song documents the horror and tells African Americans to self determine their worth as thought by Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali and not to strive to accumulate the wealth from the monetary and value system that enslaved them as a people in the first place. A “celebration” of 250 years of thievery, cruelty and barbarity is due to take place this July. I wonder what the Native Indians (who were murdered/starved out and had their land stolen) and the African Americans whose forefathers were terrorised to work on that land to ….”increase the lucrative plough” think it’s worth celebrating?

Hailing from County Dublin, Ireland and now living in Greystones, County Wicklow for the last twenty years with his family, Garrett Anthony Rice intends to make a significant impact on the global music scene in 2025 and 2026.
