Born in 2018 within the now defunct Barcelona’s underground club Màgia Roja (eponymous to their still-existing DIY music label), Italian-Catalan duo formed by Silvia Konstance Constan and Viktor Lux Crux chose a stage name which sounds like a pun between a request for space (“Give me air”) and a hint at Demetrio Stratos’ Seventies cult band Area.

Under the motto “Imagine the past, remember the future” the two revive the sound of experimental music pioneers such as Throbbing Gristle, Diseño Corbusier, Suicide and Front 242 through industrial-tribal polyrhythms and minimal synth basslines, enhanced by brilliant punk-surrealist lyrics, written and declaimed mainly in Italian by native speaker Silvia.

‘Centro di Gravità’ (a clear reference to Italian avant-garde master Franco Battiato) is their 2018 debut album, followed in 2021 by the tribal-industrial second LP ‘Ondas tribales’, which drew the attention of Berghain-based label Mannequin Records.Later, in 2022, the less percussive and more dancefloor oriented album ‘oda la mentira sobra Dame Area’ followed.
