Emilya Ndme is an alternative pop artist from Genoa (Italy). Her music oscillates between indie rock and international alt pop and lands on the shoegaze world. Between pads and synthesizers, distorted guitars and deep drums, her sweet but decisive voice emerges from the wall of sound and guides the listener into a fae trap. In 2020 she released her first album “Thank you for your complaints”, mastered by Björk's long-time collaborator Valgeir Sigurðsson at Greenhouse studios in Reykjavik. In 2022, she released “Space and the Universe'', produced by mastering the sounds of Mars collected by NASA, blending beats with hazy vocals. The track was mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios. In 2024, she released the singles "Indaco" and "My Best", which precede the release of her new album "Piss off the neighbour", recorded, produced, and mixed by Fulvio Masini (Unbox Studio) and mastered by Giovanni Versari (La Maestà).
"My best" is the self-justification that quiets everything at the end of the day: I did my best. This song speaks of trying to do my best with someone, and I always try to give my best, but everything was too fast and intense, and I didn’t always succeed. Then there was the need to protect my “reputation,” which is just a social construct, a form of torture that strips you of your freedom. So, like a king alone in his kingdom, I drew boundaries using my own fears. The indie-rock atmosphere emphasizes the speed and fleeting nature of time, which creates confusion and frenzy but heals the wounds of the past.
