Edinburgh-based noisy indie guitar squall merchants Shinlifter are set to release their debut EP Other Conspiracies. The three tracks capture the chaotic, cathartic energy that's been winning them fans across Scotland's DIY scene.
Since forming in late 2023, Shinlifter have been playing rancorous, sweat-soaked sets across Scotland, the sort of shows where songs teeter on the edge of falling apart but are always held together by a manic propulsion that never lets up. Call it noise rock, call it post-hardcore, call it "poetic-nonsense" as they do. Whatever it is, it's alive, messy, and a little bit dangerous.
Recorded mostly live in a single day with Scott McLean (Ashenspire / Maud the Moth / Healthy Living), the EP is a snapshot of a band discovering its shape and sharpening its teeth.
