Graham Ereaux, the musician behind Devarrow, wears many hats: songwriter, producer, carpenter, surfer, and nature enthusiast. Nestled in a quaint coastal town in rural Canada, his life and surroundings heavily influence his music. Self-described as "Carpenter-surf-folk-pop best listened to while driving down quiet rural roads or out to the beach," his upcoming album Heart Shaped Box evokes echoes of Fleet Foxes, Noah Kahan, and Peter Bjorn and John. Infusing his music with a vibrant energy, he diverges from folk's typical sombre tone to celebrate life's simple joys against lively backdrops. His lyrics, inspired by routine and literature, blend heartfelt introspection with catchy melodies, providing a fresh lens on small-town Canadian life. Recorded at his DIY home studio, Devarrow embraces folk's depth, injecting it with new perspectives while honouring its origins, revitalising the genre in the process.
