After a two-year hiatus, Nijmegen-based art rock band De Staat returns with new material. With a long-awaited album, an art installation and a conceptual live show entitled De Staat Becomes De Staat, they mark almost 25 years of groundbreaking work in the rock landscape. 

Themes such as power, manipulation, misinformation and autocracy have featured in De Staat’s work before. This new concept takes the band, literally and figuratively, to a higher level. With ‘THE KING’, they set the tone straight away: direct and confrontational, with tribal drums, thumping keyboards and industrial guitars.
