This track is an extension of my most recent LP "Paris, Indiana" recorded in Paris with French artists. It features Squeeze Me I Squeak on the duet. Recorded in Paris and Petersburg, Indiana.
Brick Briscoe has made a life of figuring out how to do what he needs to do. Writing songs and performing are at the top of that list. His most recent LP was for French Fries Records in Paris. "Paris, Indiana" features 13 songs he wrote with French and Irish songwriters. HIs upcoming year will feature shows performing these songs (among others) in a solo/duo/trio format. In his daily life, Brick Briscoe defies expectations and finds inspiration in the most unique of locations. Much of his record “Brick Briscoe IV” was recorded / mixed in hospital while undergoing chemotherapy. Brick continues to explore his sound, creating songs that paint a picture of restlessness and wonder, sprinkled liberally with a well matured angst. Brick is a wanderer - both physically and creatively; he is just as obsessed with life on the open road, as he is trying to get you into the metaphorical bed! His music wanders as well, yet he says that he finds “an unsettling safe house” somewhere between a punk rock edge, and a curious free form jazz / folk adventure; his buzzsaw and angular guitar riffs cutting a trail for his lyrics. Brick’s live shows channel the things he spits out form his journey, always intense yet surprisingly sensitive - his shows go from a whisper to a howl in a fraction of a moment. It’s entertaining for sure, but there’s some thinking in the dance and things can get messy.
