Black Stone Cherry trappen vandaag hun Europese headlinetour af met een cover van The Cult’s hit-nummer "American Horse," samen met hun tourgenoten Ayron Jones en John Cooper van Skillet.
 
Het nummer werd oorspronkelijk uitgebracht in 1989 op het album Sonic Temple van The Cult, dat in de officiële albumlijst van het VK op nummer 3 terechtkwam en later platina behaalde in de VS.
 
Black Stone Cherry zegt enthousiast: “We are extremely excited to be coming back to the UK and bringing Ayron Jones and Skillet with us. Talk about a badass package of riff rock! We are pumped to have a single out featuring all three bands, something we have never done before, and we hope it gets people as excited as we are!" 
 
Ayron Jones zegt, "As an artist I believe it’s my duty to pay tribute to other great artist in my work. That’s why when BSC reached out to me to be on this track by The Cult I jumped at the opportunity. It was insanely fun to work on this tune and help put a spin on this classic. Did you need anything else for the moment?"

De tour begint vandaag, 29 oktober, in Berlijn, Duitsland en doet Luxemburg, Nederland, Frankrijk, Zwitserland, Italië, België en de UK aan, met als afsluiting op 23 november in Londen. Ayron Jones zal de hele tour ondersteunen, terwijl Skillet aansluit voor de shows in de UK.
 
Over de tour zei de band, “Our beloved Cherry Heads in Europe, we have seen your comments and read all of your messages which have kept us feelin’ fuzzy since the last time we saw you. With that said, it’s been too damn long, and we can’t wait to come back for a full headline tour in October and November!! We look forward to seeing your faces and hearing your voices! Eerder deze maand deelde Black Stone Cherry een nieuwe versie van "Out Of Pocket", met Jesse Leach van Killswitch Engage. De originele opname is al vijf miljoen keer gestreamd, terwijl het totaal aantal streams op alle platforms voor de nummers van hun laatste album Screaming At The Sky nu boven de 25 miljoen uitkomt. De totale streams voor de nummers van het vorige album, The Human Condition, zijn inmiddels de 80 miljoen gepasseerd.
 
'Screamin' At The Sky' bevat geheel nieuw materiaal dat gezamenlijk op tour is geschreven, maar toen het tijd was om op te nemen besloot BSC iets te proberen waar het altijd van heeft gedroomd: een album opnemen in The Plaza Theatre in Glasgow, Kentucky - een legendarische 1020 zitplaatsen tellende zaal gebouwd in 1934 met een prachtige akoestiek. De opnames in deze karakteristieke zaal hebben geresulteerd in een muzikale mijlpaal voor Black Stone Cherry.
