NEWS - Bjørn Berge's new album is dedicated to the American cult band Morphine
For a number of years, Bjørn Berge has proven himself to be a unique guitarist and formidable live artist. With his acoustic guitars, he moves mountains and blows listeners off the track with hard-hitting arrangements. Berge's fierce and dynamic guitar playing on acoustic guitar travels between blues, rock, funk and ballads.
The guitarist from Haugesund has previously released 13 studio albums and a live album. In 2001 and 2002 he received the Spellemannspris ( Norwegian Grammy )in the Blues category, and the Notodden Blues Festival Blues Prize in 2001.
Morphine ( fronted by the late Mark Sandman) – a band that has been among his biggest favorites since the 1990s. Morphine's distinctive expression, with baritone saxophone, two-string bass and dark, minimalist nerve, made a deep impression on Berge early in his career. This album is both a tribute and a personal look back at the music that has followed him through several decades as an artist.
