Dick is a 72-year-old retired military officer and retired civil servant who is a musician, composer, photographer, pilot, published author, and motorcyclist. He primarily writes songs about motorcycling and the biker culture. He is a drummer and has played with numerous Northern Virginia cover bands over the past 25 years before writing and recording his own music.
