Ben Joseph and the Lay Lows channel the spirit of Southern music into stories that echo across oceans and boundaries. Rooted in the rich traditions of blues, country, rock, and Americana, Ben Joseph’s journey has taken him from the heart of Alabama’s soulful music scene to the global stage, captivating audiences in the Southern U.S., the U.K., and Europe. Cutting his teeth in Alabama’s iconic blues clubs and later finding inspiration in the vibrant musical tapestry of New Orleans, Ben’s sound is as diverse as his journey—layering Cajun grooves, indie-rock edges, and the raw authenticity of Southern roots. His time in London, where he earned an MA in Ethnomusicology, added a new dimension to his artistry, fusing global influences with his unmistakable style. Ben Joseph and the Lay Lows’ latest project, The Burns, is a testament to their creativity and ambition. Featuring over 20 musicians from around the world, the album explores the multifaceted ways in which love can ignite, inspire, and in many ways, burn. With singles and a full length album slated for 2025, this is just the beginning that promises to leave a lasting mark on the Americana music landscape. Whether performing in Swiss mountain festivals, Dutch underground clubs, or on Bourbon Street, Ben Joseph and the Lay Lows deliver an electrifying live experience that defies boundaries and expectations.
