NEWS - 2070's new left-field guitar album
Known as “LA’s hardest working band,” 2070 is a 4-piece rock band based in Los Angeles. Started in 2015 by lead vocalist and guitarist Trevor Coleman in his home state of Michigan, the band moved to Los Angeles and quickly found resonance in the LA DIY music scene. Currently composed of Coleman, guitarist Khari Cousins, drummer Rogers DeCoud, and bassist Danny Rincon, the band has found a unique way to blend genres, experimenting with traditional shoegaze sounds to more abrasive guitar rock. Each member’s individual sonic and artistic contributions allow 2070 to be this special act - one that changes every time they perform, from the classic 4-piece rock performance to, at times, a smaller ambient synth project. Their textured recordings are borderless and tenacious, all at once; think Dinosaur Jr. meets My Bloody Valentine. Organically finding room in the current LA scene, 2070 has played across several staple LA venues, with former bandmate Tchad Cousins (urika’s bedroom) as the bassist in the band, and with members in other projects such as Castle Pasture, Harmony Index, and more. 2070 emulates true guitar music and being a true rock band.
2070’s third album, Big Blue, takes on a more mellow songwriter approach - a more session-based and long-form album-making process, in comparison to the band’s 2024 record "Stay in the Ranch".
