The R.E.S.T.Room w/ CONTAINER / FCKN BSTRDS / SPECTRES - Bristol ( UK) - September 10th
Reports
#1 Container was exceptional, noise-techno can often fall apart by being just that, but his layering of sounds was majestic, orchestral and wonderfully ferocious.
#2 Fckn Bstrds turned the storage box into a neon-trash filled soiree, gave their guests a party pack (no, not that type!) so they could make noise with them and then delivered an extraordinary show featuring much trash throwing, play fights, dry humping of litter bins and lots of NOISE. and it was just NOISE. free and unadulterated NOISE. A refreshing and unique display of emancipation - plenty would've despised them but oh!, how they could've done with having their eyes opened by them.
#3 Spectres delivered a set loaded with new material that stacked well not just with what they've released before but also with the two previous nights shows. Their line-up of bass, guitars and drums is utterly conventional but Spectres have far more in common with the previous nights music than many bands using that most formulaic of make-ups - even if the newer material sounded a little less vicious than some of what they've done before, it still packed ferocity and the echo effects gained by playing it in a metal container only added to it.
