Wolf Alice @ The Trinity Centre- Bristol - April 2nd 2015
Reports
North London's Wolf Alice take their name from a book by Angela Carter. Originally a solo project for frontwoman Ellie Roswell, it soon expanded into a full four-piece band. Eloquently described by Clash Magazine as ‘the lovechild of folk and grunge’, Wolf Alice's off-kilter sound has seen folky vocals combine with the alt-rock of 90's bands like Hole and Elastica.
Gdhio Oihdg's review:
Wolf Alice were good in Cardiff last night but tonight in Bristol?
That was special. S P E C I A L. ...
It's a rare but wonderful moment when you catch a band realising their dreams are about to come true but also at a point still early enough that it comes when they treat gigs as a pleasure rather than a career choice chore.
The atmosphere tonight was great as well.
Sadly I fear it'll be a while before they play venues like the Globe and Trinity again, the bigger and shittier venues are waiting.
