NEWS - "TIME" Second single from Nottingham (UK) electronic music producer Magenta Dusk

Magenta Dusk is an electronic music producer from Nottingham, UK, specialising in moody electronic compositions with an 80s darkness, battling uplifting pop melodies.
Having played in bands in his home town and with gigs across the UK over the years, Magenta Dusk emerged as a project by Nottingham-based producer Ross during the 2021 lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaborating from the living room with vocalists in the USA and Europe, Ross writes all lyrics and music, including guitars, synths, electronic drums and bass.
Magenta Dusk draws inspiration from, the 1980s, Philip K. Dick, photographer Gregory Crewdson, sunrises and sunsets, and music ranging from the likes of Electric Youth to Elliott Smith, the synthwave genre and the contemporary synth-laden sounds of Chvrches. These influence not just the music itself, but are also apparent in themes and visual elements that form Magenta Dusk's image.
"The synthesis of electronic elements with a nod to the '80s darkness creates a sonic palette that is both familiar and avant-garde" - We Write About Music
Debut single 'Give It Up' (feat. Sevda B) was released in April 2021, a foundation of the Magenta Dusk sound - a blend of indie electronic dream pop, with catchy synths and vocal melodies.
Aiming to bring a stylish modern touch to a retro sound, Magenta Dusk built on this with a collection of songs to be released on their debut EP in early 2024. The EP is designed as a chronological arrangement, to create a shifting mood and sense of feeling.
After re-surfacing with a well-received teaser in November 2023, in the form of the moody and nostalgic 'Time' ("you'll either hate it, or get lost in it"), Magenta Dusk is releasing new single 'Close To Never' on 26 January 2024, as a primer for their upcoming 'Last Light EP' (out 23 February 2024).
