NEWS - Scarlet Pleasure Album "Pompeii" Danemark

Something completely new is certainly what greets listeners on Pompeii, the trio’s fourth full-length album. This LP, out on November 17th, started with a total reset. Despite a steady stream of radio hits since 2013, Scarlet Pleasure’s world was turned upside down as What a Life accompanied the unforgettable closing scene of the Oscar-winning Danish film Another Round and soon after became the summer anthem of European youth in 2021.

The album title refers both to the Roman city that was wiped out by the volcano Vesuvius in the middle of a party, and to the energy that Scarlet Pleasure discovered in the studio as the title track Pompeii was crafted from the ashes that remained after a couple of intense years on the road. The formula is a raw and direct sound drawing on everything from Californian funk rock to Stockholm indie rap. “Although we tried at several points to streamline the album’s sound, we had to accept that we feel best in the chaos and with a ton of different references at play. We find satisfaction in making something that is ‘merged’. And we get bored easily if we don’t.”
