Louise van den Heuvel is a dynamic Dutch bass player and composer. She's known for blending modern music technologies and effect pedals in her compositions, always rooted in the contemporary electronic/jazz scene. Louise founded the up-and-coming Belgian electronic jazztrio Dishwasher_, collaborated with renowned artists on stage such as Zwangere Guy & Lander Gyselinck and Bruno Vansina Orchestra, and is part of Stéphane Gallands’ bands and the neo-soul group STACE.  

'Sonic Hug' sprouted from a carte blanche given by JazzLab and W.E.R.F. Records, for their 30th anniversary in 2023. It's a quite special project: for the first time, Louise composed the whole repertoire herself, and also decided to sing.

Debut single 'Hold Me' exposes the capturing vibe very well: Louise's crystalline vocals intertwine with elegant jazz sounds and a grasping groove. Her band consists of some of the most interesting peers in the front of the newest Benelux jazz generation.
