NEWS - Lesoir - "Babel" (Progressive Rock)

Renowned Dutch art rock band Lesoir reissue their EP, "Babel," to raise funds for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The 20-minute epic track's proceeds will be donated to support those affected by the disaster, helping them recover and rebuild their lives.

Originally released during the lockdown period in 2020, "Babel" served as an interim project for Lesoir. Recorded in South Limburg, Netherlands, the 20-minute and 20-second track showcases the band's melodic side, deepening the sound of their previous album "Mosaic" while exhibiting their creative prowess. Initially, the release was available exclusively on vinyl, with only 250 handmade and numbered copies produced. These limited-edition copies sold out within four weeks of release.

Fans of bands like Riverside, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Anathema, and The Pineapple Thief will appreciate the intricate and immersive soundscape of "Babel."

Guitar, bass, and string recordings were handled by Jamshid Mahmoudy, while vocal and drum recordings were executed by Ingo Jetten. Lesoir and John Cornfield co-produced and mixed the EP, with mastering by Steve Kitch.

Line-up:

- Maartje Meessen - vocals, piano, flute
- Eleën Bartholomeus - backing vocals, guitar, synth
- Ingo Jetten - backing vocals, bass, pedal steel
- Bob Van Heumen - backing vocals, drums, percussion
- Ingo Dassen - guitars, beat programming
