The song Green-Eyed Monster uses the English metaphor for jealousy to describe the feeling of losing control when you're confronted with that emotion. It's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide: You don't want it, but the Green-Eyed Monster shows you vivid pictures of things you don't want to see and whispers scary things in your ear. And there's nothing you can do about it. I wrote this song when my girlfriend hdt a video shoot with the Elevator Boys. If you don't know them: They're five German guys who look like supermodels and got famous by making videos in elevators for Tik Tok. Though I used to say that I'm never jealous, it was at this time when I really felt how the emotion took hold of me. For I'm a 90s kid, I wanted to make a reference to the good old Super Mario games. Therefore the video is in the style of a pixel art platform runner - but it's not Bowser who kidnaps the princess - it's the Elevator Boys who steal my girl. And I'm the one to get her back, by using my superpower of turning into a Green-Eyed Monster.
