NEWS - Fake Shape from Ontario sings "Black Bear"

Fake Shape, is an eclectic, experimental, indie band from Hamilton, Ontario. They 'd describe their music as a melange of eclectic influences — a little indie rock, some solid jazz flow, and even the odd twang in the vocals.

Chester says :

"For the song "Black Bear," we wanted to try a different method of recording compared to our previous releases. One of the most difficult aspects of recording music is capturing the same level of intensity and energy as a live performance would have (the speeding up or slowing down, and all pieces of the song rising and falling organically). We wanted to try all playing together while recording the drums to see if we could capture more of a live energy – and I think we nailed it.

David's wicked trumpet solo really is the shining star of the song, and it's so cool how that section grows in intensity. Mac (drums) and Olivia (bass) build their parts so perfectly to support the solo and there's this undercurrent of super fuzzed, noisy guitar/feedback that you can hardly hear but that helps add that to that uneasy kind of crazed feeling."
