The EP explores themes of love, loss, and the "eventual descent into madness" as a result of the ramifications of climate change... while also pondering the experience of being an inflatable doll and an "unintentional murder ballad."

The songs were originally intended for an upcoming LP, however, they didn't quite fit as that album came together. They meant too much to Ryder to end up on the cutting room floor, so she decided to release them slowly, culminating in this EP release, as she puts the finishing touches on the full-length to be released in 2024.
