Southern California's metal band CONTORTION is finally releasing their highly anticipated second album "The Common Thread" on February 16, 2024. After touring throughout the US and the UK and performing at notable festivals such as Mayhem Fest and Knotfest in So Cal, the band began writing and working diligently to complete the album. The pandemic gave the band extra time to work on the album, and they called in some of the biggest names in metal as guest performers. Belisario Dimuzio from Cattle Decapitation , Heidi Shepherd from Butcher Babies , Henry Sanchez from Brujeria , Brian Sheerin from Mower , Christian Machado from Ill Nino , Dan Palmer from Death By Stereo , Travis Neal from Divine Heresy , Marcelo Barbosa from Angra , Matt Wannamaker from Mower , Riley McShane from Allegaeon , and Dallas Coyle from God Forbid all lent their talents to the album. The result is a diverse, melodic, and intense album that aims to carve out a new path for metal as a genre.
