The three of us – Joe Dent (former band leader of A Fellow Ship), August Jones (touring member of The Reklaws, the Pick Brothers band), Zach Stuckey (touring member of Anna Sofia, Dani Doucette) – wrote "Better Off" at August's cottage during our first band retreat, recorded from start to finish in his bedroom. After the countless hours we spent finishing this song, we came away with a much better understanding of the time and attention to detail to complete the kind of music we want to share with the world
