Emerging from the suburbs of Long Island, New York in 1987, Mike Hymson and Brett Clarin - two high school companions - laid the foundation of a band they initially named Cyanic Death. Though the band didn't release any demos under this moniker, they soon recruited more members from their old school, and under the new name, APPARITION, started creating waves in the metal scene.

APPARITION's first self-titled demo in 1988 was just the beginning. The band's relentless pursuit of a heavier sound led them towards Death Metal. After their vocalist's departure, Andy Marchione and Rich Figlia assumed vocal duties, leading the band to a new, Doom/Death direction. This pivotal evolution was highlighted in their 1989's three-song demo, "Human Fear."

In the following years, despite personnel changes and setbacks, the band now known as SORROW, didn't let their music skip a beat. They released the EP "Forgotten Sunrise" in 1991, which caught the attention of Roadrunner, leading to a fruitful partnership. However, when SORROW was dropped by Roadrunner, frustration set in and the band disbanded in early 1993, leaving a full album worth of songs unrecorded.

Fast forward to 2022, after nearly three decades, SORROW reunited to resurrect these lost treasures. They have breathed life into the songs written in 1992, culminating in their highly anticipated second album, "Death of Sorrow." The album, representing SORROW's authentic Death/Doom-infused sound, was recorded over 2022-2023 and is set to be released in August 2023 through Xtreem Music, featuring all original band members from the past.

This new  album "Death of Sorrow" is a testament to the enduring legacy of SORROW, capturing the essence of their early years and promising the soul-crushing, doom-infused sound their fans will relish. Set to be released on CD, 12"LP, Cassette, and Digital formats, this album is a long-awaited treat for all Death Metal enthusiasts.
